Thank you
for your interest in Kopuarahi School. Kopuarahi offers a special
blend of quality rural life in a small school with the best of
educational practice. The range of levels in each classroom
contributes to our family atmosphere and enhances the learning
opportunities for students. Teachers work hard to provide
challenging objectives for everyone and there is cooperation and
skill sharing amongst children. Younger children are stimulated
by the more advanced work they see their older classmates doing,
and acquire new skills and desirable wo
rk habits from them.
When I walk into each classroom I see displays of class work that celebrate children’s achievements and reinforce learning. Children are absorbed in their own learning, often using information and communications technology to supplement traditional resources. They are preparing for the future and gaining essential skills for lifelong learning.
There is a
close relationship between the school and its community.
Teachers know their students well and maintain strong
relationships with parents.
The Board of Trustees, like the school community, is dedicated to supporting its school. Trustees actively seek training to improve their own performance. They work harmoniously together, with the staff and with parents, taking considerable pride in maintaining good school facilities.
At Kopuarahi, we want to develop the future potential of our children. To do this we focus on the special learning needs of all children and offer a wide range of activities to foster their special abilities.
We provide a supportive and welcoming
atmosphere while at the same time maintaining high expectations
of student achievement and behaviour.
