The Kopuarahi Community Centre is situated on State Highway 25, Kopuarahi. It was originally build as the local dairy factory in 1916. When the dairy factory closed in 1956, the residents of the district negotiated the purchase of the property from the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Company for the price of 100 pounds and debentures were sold to local residents to raise money to convert the factory into a hall. The official opening banquet was held in July 1957.

The hall is still community owned and maintained. It is used regularly by the local primary school, and by local sports clubs. It is also hired out for functions.
A total exterior makeover has recently been completed. This included repainting of the entire building, planting of gardens with natives in keeping with the early vegetation of the area and also a mural adorns the side. The mural depicts the pioneer days of Kopuarahi and was painted by a local artist after consulting some of the older residents and ex-residents who remember what it was really like back then. Children from Kopuarahi Primary School also wrote in their words "History of Kopuarahi" which is included in the mural artwork. When driving past, towards Thames the mural can be seen from State Highway 25.
The new presentation of the Kopuarahi Community Centre has instilled a sense of local pride in our community owned and run facility, and it has ensured it will be there much longer for future use.
